YOKKAO 27 heats up! Superlek Kiatmoo9 vs Christopher Shaw

Another fight has been confirmed for YOKKAO 27, pitting one country’s best against another’s. A Scottish Fighter of the Year against a Thailand Muay Thai Fighter of the Year: Christopher Shaw vs Superlek Kiatmoo9. Scottish fighter Christopher Shaw is a frequent face and name on the YOKKAO fight cards, having appeared in YOKKAO 12, 15, and 19 with 2 wins in the latter 2 events respectively. This will be Shaw’s 3rd appearance in a YOKKAO promotion, in what could arguably be his biggest challenge to date.

Shaw’s opponent needs little introduction for anyone familiar with the sport of Muay Thai. The 21-year-old Superlek Kiatmoo9 is one of the most elite Muay Thai fighters in Thailand at the moment. Superlek is a 3-time Thailand champion, 2-time Lumpinee Stadium champion, as well as a recipient of the prestigious Sports Authority of Thailand Muay Thai Fighter of the Year award (2012). It is interesting to note that Superlek is also the nephew of another illustrious fighter and YOKKAO Fight Team member, Singdam Kiatmoo9. The fighting talent runs in the family.

Superlek was previously scheduled to fight in YOKKAO 23 against Panicos Yusuf but the fight was dropped due to the latter pulling out. So, YOKKAO 27 will be Superlek’s debut in the YOKKAO UK event and audience will finally have a chance to watch the superstar fighter live in action. Shaw is known for his powerful body shots and aggressive style in the ring and it will be a treat for the fans to see how he counters Superlek’s incredibly technical skills and destructive knee attacks.

Other fights that are confirmed for YOKKAO 27 - 28 include Jonathan Haggerty vs JA Kiatphontip, Rungarai Kiatmoo9 vs Dan McGowan, and fan-favorite, Jordan Watson defending the YOKKAO World Title -70kg against Lumpinee stadium champion, Pongsiri PKSaenchaimuaythaigym. The dual event promises to be another exciting show for the fans, with more fights to be announced in the days ahead.
